Transfer dies design in 3-D solids

Concept Tooling Systems

The die design experts

As the volume of orders coming into the TSG exploded in the mid-2000s, the need for a more efficient die design process arose. To meet the demand, Concept Tooling Systems, Inc. (CTS) opened in September of 2005.

Serving as the centralized stamping die design center the TSG and others, CTS was able to consolidate designers that were working at separate locations, which increased the speed that dies could be designed.

Focus

CTS is a designer and engineer of small to large progressive, transfer and line sheet metal stamping dies in full, 3D solids, using...

  • CATIA V5
  • Unigraphics NX4
  • AutoForm

Not only for the TSG companies, CTS uses their design experience to accommodate a wide range of tooling orders for die builders throughout the USA, Canada, and Mexico; including stamping dies for...

  • cross members and engine cradles
  • frame rails, brackets and hangers
  • appliance industry panels, brackets, and supports
  • seat back panels
  • A, B, & C pillars
  • floor pans & risers
  • brackets, reinforcement, and supports for I/P’s and seating
  • drive train brackets and supports
  • engine compartment components
  • heat shields and extrusions
  • fuel filler bases and hinges
  • body in white parts

Draw Form Simulation

Virtually every die and tool that CTS makes is tested through draw simulation prior to building. Our draw form analysis tests out complicated bends and processes, allowing us to fix problem areas before they make it into the final design for build.

Tooling Systems Group Connection

As a member of the Tooling Systems Group, CTS has access to resources that bring better quality to its customers with:

  • increased buying power through centralized purchasing.
  • increased efficiency and capacity.
  • shared knowledge of best practices and processes.
  • vertical integration for a seamless project from start to finish.
