Contract Machining

Letting our capacity expand yours

When a job comes along that you don’t have the capacity, equipment, or experience to handle, our shops are more than glad to help out and become your partner for outsource machining.

Some of our companies specialize in different types of machining, so please read below to understand what kind of services they can help you with.

Types of machining services that we offer:

  • CNC / General milling, and boring
    • including general machining, tight tolerance parts and production runs
    • for all types of metals, plastics and castings
  • CNC lathe machining
  • EDM (sinker, wire, small hole)
  • Steel plate burning
  • Blanchard grinding

We have varying specialties in each of our shops, so feel free to fill out our contact us form and we'll get you pointed in the right direction for your project.

CNC / General Milling and Boring

While each company in our group has an array of machining equipment that they are glad to offer for finishing projects, Lonestar (LTS), Steel Craft, 3DM Source (3DM), and Eagle Industrial Group (EIG) are our resident specialist in contract machining. Each has developed processes that allow them to provide fast quotes and quick turnaround of work with excellent results.

In the group, there are over 35 CNC mills (with work areas up to X472" x Y137" x Z60") and dozens of drill presses, Bridgeport, grinders, and other machining equipment.

Most importantly, customers get to utilize our wealth of machining knowledge to guarantee that their project is on time and finished to specification.

CNC Lathe Machining

For application that require tight tolerance round details, we offer our CNC lathe specialists to create simple to complex parts.

All of our CNC machines are continuous bar feeding capable, allowing us to quickly machine large orders of repetitive parts with minimal effort. Plus, our low overhead makes it possible for one-off parts and prototypes to be made with competitive prices and fast turnaround.

Of special note is our 5-axis CNC lathe. This machine gives us the flexibility to efficiently machine complex parts in one set-up and to fabricate parts other that round stock.

Finally, we have traditional engine lathes for simple parts and standard round stock items.

EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)

For hard, ferrous metal jobs that demand extreme tolerances that can’t be matched by standard CNC mills, EDM is a great tool to meet the challenge. We have experience machining intricate medical components, close-tolerance aerospace parts, die tooling inserts, and much more with our EDM:

  • Submerged Wire (41.3" x 31.4" x 11.6")
  • Sinker (31.4" x 21.6" x 9.8")
  • Small Hole (hole diameter ranges: .014"; to .125"; and up to 12"; thick)

Steel Plate Burning

Using CAD / CAM plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machines, we burn hot rolled steel to shape from raw plate. With 3 tables, we can cut plate up to 10' x 20' x 13". We stock multiple thicknesses of hot rolled A-36, A-572 (grades 50 and 80), 1020, 1045, mild steel and 4140 steel plate on-site (ranging from ¼" to 13") and can order to fit your application.

Blanchard Grinding

Taking our hot rolled steel plate to the next level, we can improve the raw steel’s flatness and parallelism with our Blanchard grinders. Capable of grinding up to 128" diagonally, we have 7 machines on-site to grind plate to customer specified thicknesses.
